Extended. Rearranged. Put into a different story.
It feels like ages ago. I was maybe 6 or 7 years old when I had a green tape in my hands and tried to put it into a cassette recorder. What really made me angry then was not the fact that I had to learn how to do it. The music that was on that tape.
Soon I figured out what to do with that. I put track after track on it, replaced them, learnt to write, made notes, arranged the line-up on paper, re-recorded that tape again and again — till it finally sounded like the story I had in my mind, putting me into the state I was longing for.
Once finished, it started all over again. At some point, I was ready for a different state. The most annoying part was that I couldn't change the look of the cassette to fit the music on it. Years later it got easier with playlists — skipping the CD phase.
Sometimes the songs follow a narrative, sometimes a feeling, sometimes simply what I want to hear again right now. The recordings stay the same. What happens between them doesn't.
My summer, extended. The Summer Of 24, One Green Tape mixes and more. Three hours of my music in full summer mode — made to play loud, let it run and stay in summer a little longer.
One Green Tape is my evolving playlist. The Blue Flower — a quiet melancholy — reappears as blue light.
I Keep These On Repeat - the question was: Would I press play again right now? All these are in here.
The Orange Tape — Tell Me A Story, Tell Me preserves the state of One Green Tape before it evolved into The Summer Of 24.
This one is a little different. A playlist that happens to be an album — my summer of twenty-four. Or an album that happens to be a playlist. I don't really need to decide. I just want to share it here with you. Enjoy.
